The film making industry is a very competitive business, and unless you know what you are doing you will not last very long in this industry. Fortunately film connection has enabled me to acquire the valuable knowledge essential to become useful in this business. I just want to say thank you to film connection for teaching me so much about making movies, and in particular, sound design. My mentor really showed me everything there was to know about sound design and how to make all these great sounds from ordinary objects or from common and garden sounds. The strange thing about Las Vegas, apart from the fact that it is a city built in the middle of a desert is the fact that despite the fact that as a state it lies next to California (the home of Hollywood) there is very little opportunity to go to film school within the city. The colleges are very poorly equipped and usually oversubscribed. Luckily I found film connections and am now learning the craft from within one of the best equipped studios in the city. The one on one mentoring program is the best way to study, working alongside a working professional. Film connection has saved me from having to relocate to Los Angeles. You may be aware that film is an extremely competitive industry to break into, also extremely difficult. What you may not know is film connection is THE best way to break into this business. Whether you want to be a Director, Producer, Foley Artist, Editor or Sound Designer there is no better way to get into film than FC. I enrolled with them 6 years ago and thanks to them I am doing exactly what I want to be doing, Cinematography. Thanks to large tax incentives many studios are doing their business in the Southern and South Eastern states. This is great for me as I did not really wish to relocate to the West coast.
