People told me that I needed a degree from a fully accredited university if I was to be taken seriously in this business. Thanks to Film Connection, I have dispelled that myth. The training I received as part of their 6-month mentor/ apprentice program was more than enough to get my foot in the door. Combine this with a willingness to learn and lots of hard work and now I am working as a Foley artist for a major studio in Hollywood. They did not care about diplomas; they cared more for an enthusiasm to work and a eagerness to learn new technologies. Thanks a lot Film Connection for helping me make the move into film, and in particular advertising. 10 years ago I completed my program with them and almost immediately I found rewarding and very lucrative work making commercials and infomercials. Thanks to them I also found the love of my life, Jules whilst I was training. She was the secretary at the place I was training at. It was pretty much love at first site. Thank you Film Connection so much for all the help that was given to my daughter, Melissa during her time on your program. She learned so much whilst on the course. She says that everything she picked up was relevant to working as a DP in film.
