I studied film at my High School and when I graduated my teacher advised me to look up film connection. He told me that they had a really good curriculum that would be tailored to fit me. I gave them a call and had an interview with the head of recruiting. Then I had a meeting with the person who would be assigned as my mentor. Both meetings went very well, they answered all my questions and provided lots of information. They even provide their own in house finance deals with low payment, which suited me, and my parents. Eighteen years ago I enrolled with film connection. I have to say that it was the best decision I ever made. It not only gave me the qualifications I needed to work within the film making industry, it also gave me the confidence that was needed in order to push myself in this ultra competitive industry. What I learned from them beat anything you would pick up in a four year community college course, and a lot more relevant to the business. All the little bits of inside knowledge were far more valuable than a piece of paper in a frame from some fancy university. My mentor introduced me to all of his contacts and business associates. My husband and I have decided to enroll our son Matthew with film connection. Ever since he was tiny he has had a deep fascination with all things movie. He has just finished at high school with great scores so we have decided to treat him to the program they offer. It’s for 6 months and he can do it in his spare time (in between making his short films) He doesn’t know yet and it will be his birthday surprise. I know that he will be pleased because this course does exactly what he wants to do. Hopefully he will do well and make a successful career out of his love for movies. For as long as I can remember I wanted to make movies. Now, thanks to film connection this is something I will very soon be able to do professionally. I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth so Sallie Mae’s credit facility is a real blessing. It not only covered all of my tuition and books, it also covers a lot of my accommodation costs whilst I stud. Interest rates are competitive and I won’t need to begin repaying until I start working. Because of this I can concentrate on learning and not worry about finances. Thanks again film connection and Sally Mae.
