My name is Eddie, I run a very successful commercial making company here in Wichita, Kansas. 18 months ago I was introduced to a young man by the name of Simon by William, a mentor with www.filmconnection.com. For six months William taught Simon everything there was to know about making commercials for TV. From filming to editing, and everything in between. Even from an early stage I could see that bright spark of determination in Simon’s eyes and I knew he would go far in this business. He was here so much I swear he must have been sleeping here somewhere. Even when he wasn’t working he could be found here or at a shoot watching, taking notes and asking questions. We when his 6 month program finished I practically tripped over myself in the rush to hire him, I knew if I didn’t, someone would and I would spend the rest of my life kicking myself for letting him slip away. I have been enrolled in www.filmconnection,com here in Denver , Colorado for 4 months now and I am really enjoying it. I enjoy working alongside professionals in a real movie set. And when I say working alongside, I really mean it and not just running to get the director coffee or sandwiches. I’ve never been a fan of classrooms, had far too much of that at school, so I was thrilled when they explained that most of my study would be hands on. I have a mentor, Joseph and he has been working in film for many years so knows exactly what he’s talking about. He is also introducing me to many of his colleagues and business acquaintances within the business, which is a big bonus as it is well known that many people get hired on word of mouth as much as experience, so long as you know what you are doing that is. I have just enrolled with www.filmconnection.com and I couldn’t be happier. They sat me down and went through all my options. They asked me exactly where I saw myself in, say 5 years time. They explained that the curriculum would be tailored to suit me and my lifestyle, which is great because I work part time at a local dealership. They also introduced me to my mentor Isaac, who will teach me all I need to know about the movie making business. He has many years of experience both in Hollywood and also in Europe. This was perfect as I very much admire European film maker’s especially French film makers such as Luc Besson and newcomer Pierre Morel. They both possess the directing style that I would like to utilize. The other great thing is that they have an easy payment system so that you can pay it off in low installments, this is a great weight off my mind, allowing me to concentrate on my studies and not how I’m going to pay for it. Last week I was asked by my former mentor and now friend Jason whether I would say a few words about my experiences with www.filmconnection.com. To be quite honest I would be honored to say exactly what I thought of my experiences with them. Enrolling with them was THE best decision I have ever made..period. The taught me everything I know about making films. They taught me all aspects of film making from how to scout locations and how to use a modern film camera to set design and even makeup. But what they taught me most was self belief, they taught me how to believe in myself, because if you don’t believe in yourself, how do you expect a major studio to. Recently I moved from my home town of Biloxi, Mississippi to Los Angeles, California and am now working fulltime for a major Hollywood studio. Everyone has different experiences obviously, but I have to say that my personal experiences with www.filmconnection.com are 100% positive. Ever since I was a little kid I have loved wild life. I have also loved watching wildlife documentaries. Channels such as the National Geographic and Animal Planet have been an inspiration to me over the years. Now I have enrolled with www.filmconnection.com and hope to become a wildlife film maker. Thanks to their tailored curriculum, I can study around my social and working life. My mentor David is teaching me all aspects of filming, with an emphasis on shooting wildlife. Not just the typical “how to hold your camera” but also such important things as how to cover your scent, how to make an impromptu hide or platform. In 2 months I will be vacationing in Costa Rica and I will be filming in the jungles whilst I’m there. This whole program is a wonderful growing experience for me. I hope one day to make a film with Sir David Attenborough, that would be a dream come true.

I, like everyone on this planet I think went to see James Cameron’s Avatar at the cinema. I was fortunate enough to see3 it in 3D. Cameron is a real innovator, he likes to push the envelope and take risks. That is what I want to be like, someone who will utilize the latest moviemaking advances. Thanks to www.filmconnection.com and my one on one mentor, coincidently named James I hope one day soon I will. James has taught me all aspects of filmmaking, with an emphasis on more movie making technologies, such as HD Digital filming and 3D filming. Next week I come face to face with the new ‘Red Camera’, this was used recently in the Hit movie Know1ng, starring Nicolas Cage. This has been a great experience for me.
